Bought the carter mechanical fuel pump for my new engine but it won\'t fit it hits the frame. So I had to use the stock one I had on the 305. Does anyone else have this problem or what fuel pump works other than a stock one?

Doubt it because the fuel lines hook up right where the frame is so you would have to cut out quite a bit of frame, then the frame would be weaker. But apparently holley makes a pump that has a 360 degree swivel bottom pump but it flows the same as stock 60 gph.

I\'m running an Edlebrock street pump and it hit the frame but I fixed it with some grinding and hammering. If you know what the edelbrock pumps look like, you know they have a bulky inlet/outlet housing with allen head bolts surrounding it. The holley mech. pumps don\'t have this housing, so I have a feeling they\'ll work without hitting anything. But, you can use the edelbrock pump too with some minor banging and grinding.
