My pump went to crap

There is a little hole in the top and the bottom of the pump, what are they for? IT started leaking out the bottom hole bad and I had to pull it earlier.

the holes are drain holes so when the pump goes out, it doesnt explode... if its leaking out the bottom, its time for a new pump.

what pump did you use? thats a real bad failure time but its better to have it happen sooner then later take iot back to whoever you bought it from and have them replace it.

I used the one off of my 4.3, so it had 100,000+ miles on it, It was well on its way to retirement.
