What does everyone use for their exhaust gaskets? I used permatex and in one month it already went to crap. Should I get those metal ones with the compression ring things?
Thanks http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

i just installed Percy\'s header and collector gaskets..there real soft aluminum..there garrenteed never to leak or blow out..haven\'t got to start it yet, but there real durable looking, alot heavier than the cheezy paper ones. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

PHP-66012 is summit\'s part number for the header gaskets and PHP-66001 is the number for there collector gaskets. Any parts store should be able to get them.
Yea I just went to the local parts store and got some and they are either copper or soft aluminum I forget but I have had them for 5 years now no problem. So they must be working.
I\'ve used those aluminum gaskets like you\'re talking about for the collectors already. They work out real nice. I\'ve also used just regular Fel-Pro header gaskets for where the headers bolt to the engine. Even though it says you\'re not supposed to, I run double gaskets there and I\'ve never had a problem.

i used those percy\'s and they worked for a while..... but then the rear port of the driver side header blew out and they leak, so now i have the cheap paper ones in there..... the 50 i paid for the percy\'s was a little too high to try again..... but i do have the percy collector gaskets and they seem to hold up, i think that the header to head gasket blew out cause they are like laminate layers of aluminum..... but i dunno!

i have the shorty hedman headers..... you can take a look on my cardomain site..... it has pics, but i dont think you can see the gaskets, i got them after a while to try and stop my bolts from walking out, but you can check anyway..... www.cardomain.com/id/trucky350
