Will be ordering a 350 crate motor (285HP) in a few weeks to replace a worn out 305. I\'m currently running a Edelbrock 600 with an electric choke thats about 12 years old. It\'s been good to me and I\'ve got the tuning kit and know the carb like the back of my hand. But after going through the Jegs mag and reading about the bolt on FI kits I\'ve been thinking of maybe going FI on this motor. Does anyone have any experience with either the Holley or Edelbrock FI systems? The one I\'m looking at is the Holley system. Since I\'m running stock manifolds and a 3\" single exhaust I\'m probably going to be below the advertised 285 HP. According to the specs the 2 barrel system is good up to 275 HP. The 4 barrel system is about $500 more. Will the 2 barrel set up fit a performer intake? Was there any dificulty in setting it up? Do you have to use a laptop in order to adjust it? If your running a instake with a EGR valve do you still run one after the going to FI or is the port just blocked off? Any info would be appreciated.

EFI is the way to go. It gets killer gas mileage, and you are able to make many upgrades to the truck. No offense but it\'s the 21st century, Keep progress moving. Also if you decide to move one state west to Cali you might have a problem passing emmisions with a carb. A good book to check out for both Carbs and EFI is a book by holley, it instructs you from Single barrel to EFI. Also there is a magazine called GM High Tech Performance. It is about all non carburated cars. You can find them both at borders. Best thing to do is find a used Lt1 motor from a junk yard. Good Luck.

That system will get decent mileage, and performance. If you plan on upgrading your hp, I would look into a MPFI system like the Holley comander, or an Accel system.

You won\'t need a laptop, but you\'ll probably need to tune it with a computer. Your gonna need a garage, and long ass cable.

Or you can keep your edelbrock, and just change the rods. BTW, Im pulling over 20mpg with my carb.

holleys TBI systems are kind of crappy if you want TBI stick with gm hanress and tbi unit and computer there easy to setup just make sure its off a 350 if you go that route.

personaly Id go with MPFI look for either a vortec intake or an LT1 intake for your motor both should be readily available from a scrap yard..
