Question for all who went from 4.3 to a small block. What did you use for the engine mounts? Did any of you use the stealth conversion mounts?

I did. Unbolted the 4.3 mounts, and got a set of 2.8 motor mounts to use with them. The only thing I don\'t like, is can\'t find any urathane mounts for the 2.8. My motor tq\'s a lot, and moves a bit. Im not even sure they have poly mounts for the 4.3???

I used Trans-Dapt\'s 4.3 mounts. I left the 4.3 frame mounts and just dropped the engine w/ the Trans-Dapt mounts on it. Bolted right up but I had trouble with headers. I had to do some cutting and welding to get them to fit right and the engine sitts a little higher than the 2.8 mounts.

I used a mount that bolted directly on to the 4.3 mounts, but I ended up having to cut them down because my motor sat up to high with them.

I used Advance adapters mounts, they use the 4.3 mounts, it did sit really high, I had to make an assload of shims for the transmission cause the motor sat at too much of an angle, like 9 degrees, after i put about 2\" of shims on about 7 degrees, these mounts are crap, and my headers hit the steering shaft, when you got on the throttle the motor would torque to one side and the steering would lock up, they also dont allow enough set back and put the engine too high, radiator support will most likely need cut out to fit radiator with these mounts, and you will still not have much room for a fan. I had to retap the holes in them too, there was crap in them. if i had gotten different mounts I might still be driving my truck.

oh yeah, 4.3 mounts are the same as v-8 mounts a little FYI, i wanted to use the solid metal ones from moroso, they are really short and would have dropped the engine about an inch or so, never got around to it tho...

Holy old thread batman!!!!

Yeah, its Boosted Thrills, I think his names Mike(can\'t remember his real name offhand)

They\'re for the 2.8, and I bought a set off of him. REALLY ties the motor down.

My apologies. I paid Absolutly no atten. to the posting dates due to the fact that i was tickled to death to be finally registered and reading the topics left and right.

I should try those poly mounts on my upcoming TBI 5.7 swap into a 90 S15 4.3/5sp.

They arent\' cheap, but alot of work went into them.

Spraying, I shoud be in the 550hp+ range. The rubber ones let the motor jump all over, and that was when my motor was stock(350hp)

They really tie the motor down. Increases vibration and such though.

its funny i have had the same problem, scared the $hit out of me when i first got on it, and the steering locked up on me, i sent them a email explaining this to them, heard nothing back.. bought the brackets at advanced adapters as well.. but the angle isnt that bad in my truck.. just in the rear cuase of the drop blocks i have installed.
