View Full Version : taurus fan toggle switch
I just put the taurus alectric fan on my truck and it is running cool temperature wise but the switch is heating up like everyone was telling me. I even tried the 35 amp switch from discount auto parts. Where an what kind of relay do I use or something because there is too much power running through it and blowing out my toggle switch every to weeks. Any info would be great thanks, Kory
Yes use a relay. Go to the parts store and tell them what you need. They run like 3-4 bucks and will keep your switch from <TABLE STYLE="filter:glow(color=red, strength=5)">

well when i did mine i went to summit racing and bought a digital guage from them, it had the sensor and relay to turn on ur fan automatically. u can set the temp for when u want it to kick in too nice, part number for it is CSI-1225, its about $79 . But its worth it no messing around with switches and stuff. but if ya just go with relay gots the diagrams for it email me
man $79 bucks, what are you a millionare?

umm i talked with many mechanics, u should be running ur truck at 180 degress, no less or ur gonna be losing alot of horsepower! one of the mechanics i talked to used to build race cars so i take his advise anyday http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

chevy small blocks perform the best between 180-190 degrees... just change yur thermostat and let it heat up to around there... be sure to use a failsafe though... only way to go

I would not go with a fail safe thermostat. They always get stuck closed, or open not a good idea.!!! Anybody from where i am do not use them!
