Hi, I\'m just curious about something. I just bought a new set of 31\" BFG mud terrains off a co-worker for $200 and after talking with one of my friends, I starting questioning clearance. Does anyone know if 31\" tires will fit under the fender wells of an \'84 S10 4X4 Tahoe Ext cab pickup with stock suspension? And beyond that, if they do fit will there be rubbing problems with turning/bumps/light offroading, etc.?

It won\'t be a big deal if they do because I can throw a 3\" body lift on there to help and eventually get some suspension lift as well, but for the time being...

P.S. I haven\'t received the tires yet so I\'m not able to try fitment myself.

I have 31\"s on my 85 blazer and they did not fit until I had the three inch lift. I still had rubbing on the fender flares and some turning restrictions but very little.

i had 30\'s on my blazer, they barely fit, but couldnt go offroading much they would rub... Cranking up the torsion bars wont work well either, they break easier.. I put on a 3 inch body lift, and was not happy enough, so i put a solid front and new rear axle under it.. Now i can run 44\'s with no problem and not even cut the fenders out. it is 28 inches from the ground to the frame with 33\'s on it and i am 55inches at the hood, stock springs just sprung over dana 44\'s from a wagoneer..

frame swap works well for that too lol I can run 44\'s easy and 29\" tires just look puney lol.

Ok ok slow down there guys. I like the idea of frame and axle swaps and everything but there\'s no way I could even touch on that stuff for a long time. Right now I\'m looking to raise it enough to run 31\'s and gain some ground clearance for some light-medium offroading. Most of this is going to be mud, soft dirt, and grass type stuff. I\'m hoping to get away with a 3\" body lift and the 31\'s for now and possibly some blocks for the back and springs for the front if I really have to.

Like I said, I don\'t really have the time or money to dip into this too seriously yet with new axle setups and stuff, plus I don\'t need a crazy setup for my use anyways. I\'m looking to have something that will hopefully let me do what a couple of my friends in older (\'86, \'87) Toyota 4wd pickups can do with 31\'s and a 3 inch lift.

your only real option is to cutout your fenders to help them fit so try and do the body lift and crank your torsion bars as much as you can aford then cut and roll your fenders I know los of guys who did this and it seems to work fine for awhile just make sure you give enough room for suspension travel or your going to go through tires really quickly specificaly if you dont roll a lip on your fenders after you cut them. Id say do what Im doing until you can afford to go bigger stick with 29\'s there a good sized tire for the truck and dont even look bad on my truck and its skyward and once money gets better and youve saved up enough move to an axle or frame swap and get any size tire you want.

Im planning on running 35-40\" tires on mine once I can afford to.

I have 31x10.5 15\'s on my 2 door, s-10 blazer. I cranked the torsion bars, and put shakles on it, and they dont run unless the steering wheel is cranked, or if im really bouncing off road. But regular driving no problem at all, but i did have to take the bottom bolt of the inner fender well out and beat it back with a 5lb sledge http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif .
