I have a 377 sbc with hei ignition. The cam is 480 lift, 280 and 110 if these numbers mean anything to you. I also have an edelbrock 1411 carb (750 cfm with electric choke) and I think it\'s getting way too much fuel but don\'t know. I have trouble getting it to idle. If I set it to idle then when I put in into park or neutral the rpm\'s go up to about 1800. If I set the idle in park at about 1100 then drop into gear, the truck dies. The carb is new out of the box and the engine with no miles. please help

I have the same problem. My idle is set really high because I have a .494 lift cam and I did not have enough converter stall, so to compensate so the engine does not stall you have to put the idle up high. My problem will be fixed tomorrow with the new 2500 stall converter from tcs. I am 99% sure that you have the same problem.

I have the stock converter in my tranny. there isn\'t any vacuum leak. My tranny is new and I was told that my warranty would be void if I put in a different converter that stock. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

I am in the same situation, so I chose to void warranty because warranty only covers minor things like seals, gaskets etc. so if I break an input shaft or have other failures, the tranny guys know what causes certain failures, therefore it is not covered, but my tranny guy says that if something happens they will help me out. The warranty is just no longer in writing. The warranty on my 700R4 was 5 years 50000 kms. he also says any sort of racing voids warranty so you may aswell get the proper converter.

That kind of sucks for me cuz the motor and tranny is already in the truck. I was thinknig that my problem was carb related or overcarbed or something. I was thinking of going with smaller jets or something. I wrote edelbrock but still waiting for a reply.
Thanks though

Got the truck running really good. A linkage on the choke was on backwards from the factory and found out that the fuel was heating up after a while of idling. I\'ll have the get something to help keep the fuel cooler.
