i have a 650 holley carb. i tried to set the idle down with the linkage adjument screw, but still idles too high. i have 2400-2600 stall converter and i can\'t find any vacuum leaks. is there another adjustment?

What do you mean \"too high\"? What RPM exactly? You may have the throttle linkage bracket installed incorrectly or have the wrong one. If the bracket is too far away for your aplication it would cause too high an RPM. Holley tech support also says that if you adjust the idle screw too fast, it can mess it up, but I dont know about that one. Check the bracket.

Also check your excellerator pump adjustment, if it is too tight it will keep your idle high.

Try pulling the line off that that goes to your vacuum booster for the power brakes. Pull the line off and plug it with your finger and see if you can get it to idle lower. If this is the case then you need a new booster. Thought I\'d post this just in case you haven\'t tried it already.

you didn,t say what intake you are running i had same problem i have a performer intake dual pattern holley or quadajet you have to have two gaskets and metal plate made by eldebrock thanks

did you check your timing? if its too far advanced it wont idle low enough
