I\'ve seen a few and talked to the guys who have done them. The only problem is the drivers side exhaust manifold to steering clearance. Well and keeping it cool but that\'s a given. I considered one myself. PAW has a really cheap rebuilt 454 that looks like it would be a good start. If you ran a TH400 and a 3.08 posi w/ traction you would be mid 10\'s easy.

Hold up a second....PAW SUCKS. My last stroker kit came from there.(and there is pics of it in the gallery, broken after 200 miles) They do horrible machine work, i have seen some people get a crate motor from them, with a crank that was turned under .30/.30 and a block that had 2 or 3 cylanders sleeved. with ancient freakin 2.02 heads that won\'t flow a thing. and By no way will that thing run mid 10\'s with one of their Big Blocks. Be lucky to see a mid-14 outa one of those

hey don\'t you guys check the gallery on this site there are pics of my friends bigblock s10 project we just started the project .i plan on updating the pics and will share any info we have . steve has had 2 other small block s10s and one other big block s10.he has wanted another bigblock one when this deal game along he jumped on it.we plan on having it running befor winter so we can do body work and tweaking during the winter .the engine was fully assemble by another friend of ours who wanted to put it in a fullsize truck he also had the s10 that he was going to small block they traded the body of steves 79 prostrret camaro for the big block and s10 and other parts.the engine from the camaro is for sale or will eventually go in a different s10.he would like one sm block and one big block. we are both fullt capable of doing this swap and will keep the site informed.pics of his old trucks are on this site, pics of his camaro are on this site ,pics of this project are too,as well as my old s10v8

For gas mileage and with 500-600ft.lb@2500 you need to keep the motor in it\'s power band. No need to turn the engine over 5000-5500RPM because if you build it for torque it\'ll fall off after that point anyway. So a nice higher gear set would let you run 10\'s and get half way decent gas mileage without an overdrive tranny.

If your gonna run ANY big block engines, Get them from Beck Racing Engines (BRE Racing), Skogin\'s & Dickey, Pace Performance, or Bill Mitchell Racing engines. I\'ve had sucess with all of these companies.
