HI, i put on a body lift and it is ok, i dont really need it since i have 22 inches from my fender to the top of my 33 inch wheel. My problem is this... The steering shaft has almost zero room to go thru the headers. I have to move the steering box towards the cab to compensate for the body lift.
I know in the book it says knuckle steering, i have one, but it doesnt look like it will fit.
any idea\'s? or anyone have the same problem. If i cant devise a plan i will just pull it out and run it on original body mounts.
Thanks and hope somoene can help

i have 2 inch body lift on my truck. I had no problems. what motor mounts are you using? aslo ya have to have the drivers side of the motor up higher than the passenger side. i think i have pics so ya can see

hi thanks for the reply, i have the mounts plates from adapters plus or something like that. They use the original motor mounts and then bolt to the block.
Why does one side of the motor have to be higher?
I have a 4x4 s-10 but i have a solid front axle so i have lots of room underneeth, i can change my oil filter by leaning on the tire and reaching above the frame rail no efforts.
Should i fabricate something for the steering, everything else so far. I submitted a pic of my rig on my profile.
Thanks and let me know

i raised the drivers side little higher than the passenger side cuz, it gave the header more room for the steering to go thru and also, my header just touched the top of the shock tower. had to trim the top off the tower, but works good. i see if i can find a better pic to show.

ardusatomus...
have you found a fix for your clearance on the headers ?
I have 2\" body lift on my 96 ext cab, I also had the same problem, with the header and steering shaft.
I have found that most 4wd S10\'s dont have a issue with the body lift, but ALL of the 2wd S10\'s with bodt lift usually have the steering shaft hitting the headers.
I belieive that the frame mounts are a little different between the 2wd and 4wd...
If you haven\'t came up with a fix let me know, I might have a couple things to suggest...
