I am taking suggestions for what would be my best bet to throw in my 97 to make it fast as it can be on my budget, but not cost me $10K. I think that this is going to be just a toy that I can cruise and tinker with occassionaly. But the truck will definatly be body dropped when I get a new car (which should be within the next 4 months). I really plan on just hacking the hell out of it and trashing everything that isnt neccessary to make it a part-time street/strip truck. Any combos that have worked well for anyone? I also need a foundation to build on...you know, more horsepower later when I can afford it. Also, can somewone point me in a direction of a conversion site, so I dont have to guess as much? Thanks a lot everyone. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

Oh yeah... any body got any suggestions for the suspension? I had it lowered, but I want to make it kinda sleeper-ish and strengthen up everything a little.

I also have 97, which i plan on doing when my 86 is done. My plan is to put an LT1 in it. This can be done relativly cheap if you find a good salvage yard. A used low mile LT1 with tranny can be had for about $2,500 with harness, computer and all accessories. Some mounts and nice exhaust, and you\'ll have one hell of a sleeper. If the need arises to go faster..and that need always arises, then there is alot of things that can be done to hop up an LT1. A LT1 Camaro with a supercharger will run 12\'s think what that will do in a light weight S10. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
