power estimates?

Ok, so say you start with as good ol\' 350 small block 4 bolt main. Normal truck style cam. Pop on a set of vortec heads that you can buy dirt cheap brand new and a corresponding Edelbrock intake manifold and a mild 4 barrel on top and breathing out a set of say S10 hedman style headers... what sort of HP numbers are we looking at?



Just curious cuz i need to built the top end of my engine and I need to do it cheap cuz i dont have much cash to spare at the moment yet I want to get some good power out of it. Anyways comments/suggestions are welcomed!

with an RV cam you should be in the range of about 230 to 250 hp, just a guess.

blah, thats the problem i don\'t know the specs on the cam. i havent even had the chance to dig in to look at it yet but he told me it was to the stock specs of the truck which was a fullsize late 80\'s early 90\'s pickup.

Stock specs sounds like a stock vortec motor. Expect 250-275 hp from what you have said.
