Bunch of wires!

I have an 83, and there is a TON of wires on the firewall. I was wondering what you did with all the extra wires? They were cut when i got them, so i have no idea what most of them are for. I was thinking of cutting them, i dont really need any except for the lights and ignition and starter stuff. Any ideas?

they mite have been for ur ac and heater box controls on the outside ..there is a ton of them

wait till the truck is done and running and everything works then cut the extras that way you dont cut anything you need



ps next time we talk i got a pic. of real wires lol a 83 doesnt have any compared to jperu \'s truck

just hook them all up to the battery one at a time to see what they all do. Make sure that you dont need any of them. Then just cut and tape up all the wires you dont need, then take a zip strip and tie all the wires you dont need together and stick them somewhere out of the way so it looks cleaner.

td thats a bad idea if there are resitors or sensitive things on the end of some of those wires.



4more lol my 2000 had a wire harness about two inches in diameter under the freaking dash and one close to that going accross the fire wall now theres only 6 wires on the firewall and about 22 total in the cab and 8 going to the rear makes like so much simpler!
