The fuel pump has 3 places for hooking up the lines.I know that the large threaded square fitting hookup is the carb feed line. Then you have a medium size tube and a small tube.I will not be using the charcoal cannister, I already bought a vented gas cap.

On the driver side frame they are 3 male fittings with hoses on them.

My question, Which of the 2 fittings on the frame hook to the 2 fittings on the fuel pump and what do i do to the 3rd fitting on the frame?

Sounds like you must have an injected truck. The bigger of the lines should be the suplly tube. The next smaller would be the return line, and the smallest would be or should be the vent line for emissions\'s stuff.

I hope this helps in some way.

It was a carbed 2.8, what do i need to do with the vent line? Cap it off?

That\'s what I did. No big deal.

yeah the three male fittings are like u said. the charcoal canister one just needs a plug or breather if not ventalated. the return line needs pluged also if ur carb does not have a return line.

I am confused on a carb return line.I only have 1 line that runs to the edelbrock carb.So i would guess that i do not have a return line for the carb, correct? I have 2 empty fittings on the fuel pump.Could the return line actually be on the fuel pump instead of the carb?

Your fuel pump will have one line for in comining fuel, one for the line to the carb, and the 3rd for return to the tank. This line shuold be the smallest on the pump and is used to return any excess fuel from the pump. Or if you got this pump brand new you could read the instructions?

The directions just explain how to bolt it to the block and such.

Ok, let me see if i got it right.

3 fittings on the pump:

large fitting=carb

medium fitting=fuel supply

small fitting=tank return

frame fuel fittings:

3/8 = Fuel supply from tank

5/16=return line to tank

1/4 = vent

Ok, has anyone else got rid of the charcoal canister?Do i actually need to cap or block the fitting for the vent off ?I believe i can block it off and use a older vent style gas cap, Is this correct? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

I\'m going to add to this post, as i believe i have a relative question.

I just got a 2 line charcoal cansiter from a fuel injected truck, that i want to put in mine to use. I have a carb, and i\'m trying to eliminate the vacuum lines i currently have to have due to emissiosn. On the new cannister the larger line on the cannister would be where i bring my line in from the tank, correct? The other line which is labeled purge on the cannister goes where? I have a quadrajet carb and i\'m not sure where i should be putting the other line from the cannister to.

Any help would be appreciated
