fuel tank wiring

my 87 s10 blazer has had elect pump removed now gas gauge doesnt work dropped tank wires were clipped about a qarter inch long red and tan red wire hot with switch on does it need a groung wire to sender thanks

i have the same problem...still. i cut both wires and hooked the guage wire back up and i still dont have the guage. it kinda sucks

should be a ground wire coming off the sender that grounds to the frame/.

only two wires? tan would be your sending unit the tank should ground to the frame. if your using an after market guage you might be out of luck because they need an independent ground from the guage itself which has nothing to do with the frames ground infact if does get grounded the guage wont work right at all..
