backup lights not working???

ok so i have no back up lights how do i fix this... is it difficult to do? what could be some causes?

could be as simple as the bulbs, could be a wire loose or broke, could be the fact that the shifter and transmission is not original and the trigger is simply not there or not hooked up anymore. I am not sure how many of us here have working reverse lights? I know I don\'t have mine hooked up. post if you have yours hooked up and how you hooked them up.

Ive got a B&M Hammershifter and my reverse lights do work. I ran a wire from constant power @ the fuse block to the switch that came with the shifter. It has an in and an out on the switch... theres a bump on the shifter so that when its in reverse it activates the switch... the other wire i have goes under the truck into the harness that runs to the taillights... i BELIEVE the reverse lights are the light green colored wire. I just piggybacked it and presto reverse lights! If you need to know exactly what color the wire is let me know and ill crawl under it and check it out.
