I know that with the older style heads that you have to run regular gas so it lubricates everything and packs the valve seats. What will happen if I run regular gas in my S-10? I\'ve heard that it heats up the catalytic converters pretty bad, but if I don\'t run them, will it hurt anything? Unleaded gas doesn\'t lubricate etc. as good as regular gas does. Anyway, I just wanted any input on this. Thanks.

It has been a federal law that there is to be no regular LEADED gas since the mid to late 80\'s as far as I know. You wouldn\'t be able to get a leaded knozzle into an un-leaded gas tank opening.

You can buy leaded fuel, it is a high octaine racing fuel like the cam fuels. It is a must that high compression engines use it. Sunoco blue and purple is an example. I pay 6 dollars a gallon for it. The lead in the fuel would also screw up you O2 sensor. By the way I love the smell of burnt race fuel. I am sure the lead in it is killing me but wat a way to go.

hey, what about that led additive crap they sell at the parts store, maybe that will work but i dont think it likes cats at all. I think they have a warning or something on it about the converters.

What if I were to put a lead additive in it? I\'m not saying that I will, I just wanted to know if it would hurt anything. Just 87 octane unleaded gas with a lead additive???
