can anyone tell me how to adjust rocker arms I have done it several times but thy keep knocking I have been through it and found out that the pistions are goners now the rockers are non roller and the lifters are also non roller so any help would be great

Warm it up and pull one valve cover at a time. Start at one end with the engine and loosen them up until they click/clatter. Now tighten them down slowly until it quits,then another 1/4 turn. This is how I have done it for years and haven\'t had any problems yet. If the problems persist I would check to see if your nuts (don\'t take this the wrong way. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif ) are not bad.

this one time at band camp, i had one that the i couldn\'t get the valve adjusted. i tried for a couple of hours to adjust them, turns out that i had an exhaust leak at the manifold. the flange of the header was not right and wouldn\'t seal. filed the header and replace the gasket. all was good. the exhaust leak sound like a lifter tap, it was that quiet. best of luck
