Hey everyone. Well the new big thing is the V8 swap, but most everyone is doing it with their 6 shooters. Is there enough room under the hood of a four banger to fit a 327, 350 or even a 400? Let me know. Also, if it\'s possible, what all will I have to replace? I made a rough measurement off of a friends 327 and I don\'t know if it\'ll fit http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif . Anything you can tell me would be appreciated. Thanks.

Zach

Yes it will fit, The underhood is the exact same as a 6cyl. truck. And all small blocks have the same outside diminsion\'s. So you can put any size small block in your truck.327 and 400 are the same size engines on the outside.

the biggest difference is the frame mounts, you\'ll need to remove your 4cyl frame mounts and get the 6cyl frame mounts and bolt them on, the holes are already there.

most of the specialty parts you will need can be found at parts.s10v8.com (http://parts.s10v8.com)

Zach it will fit without any major problems.

Just look at my pics or explore around the galleries and you\'ll see a lot us have done it.

Mine has been in for 13 years now.

Good luck sir,

Jeff....

I had a 4 cylinder in mine, and everything went good. I think if you have AC then you have less room, but theres a kit for that.

I had a 4-cyl. in mine and I have my A/C hooked up and everything. It is a little tight in places but I love it.

Ok, I have a 1995 Sonoma 4 cyl 5 speed instead of an S10, but I don\'t think there is any difference really under the hood. So yes, I can still fit my A/C with per say a 327? And about one of the replies...why would I need 6 cyl mounts for a V8?? If at all possible, I was wondering if someone could send me a list of things they had to replace during the whole conversion and ABOUT the cost. Thanks http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
