I\'m thinking about getting a local guys 4.3L 2wd Jimmy. He only wants $2000 OBO for it (probably get it for $1500), and it\'s in decent shape.

I would immediately start building my 350 (looking for high 200s/mid 300s h.p wise), and I\'d order a bowtie overdrives 700R4 tranny...

Also with this, the s10V8 swap kit (the one that includes headers, mounts, radiator, book, starter, and then 2.8L mounts, too)

Is it basically a pull the 4.3 and tranny, put down mounts, put in new radiator, and drop in 350/700R4, plug back in, and go?

I AM going carbbed, to make things easier on myself...

Have any of you guys run into any snags along the swap? I want to know what I\'m facing here before I tackle it.

My background: worked on a Mustang, rebuilt a carbbed 350 for my 70 Nova I used to have, pulled and replaced trannies, etc...

I can\'t weld, but a friend of mine can, very well....

Thanks,

David

You could use the stock transmission. But I would be sure and see how many miles is on it with 300 horses.

Emissions is no problem in my town. We don\'t have it http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif I\'m a little north of Vancouver, WA, a little south of Tacoma, right where you don\'t need emmissions....

it turned out that the blazer I went to look at was a 4-door though, and I don\'t want a 4-door..time to keep looking.. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
