I read an article in a recent issue of Hot Rod and they had very high praise for Edelbrock\'s performer RPM airgap intake. I don\'t know how much these are new, but is this a good deal?

its not the price I would worry about. I would worry about the sellers feedback (0). I would look for a seller with LOTS more feedback. I have had more problems with sellers with low feedback. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

looking for old school help i what to run this intake i already have it is a cast iron intake off of a 1965 300 h.p.327 c.i. it has the four equal size holes on it my question is does this intake outflow a newer spreadbore design cast iron intake or do i just need to get an ebay special aluminum 327 w/ about 300 to 325horses

uh.... off the top of my head.... i\'d say a wild guess is that an old 327 performance orientated intake would probably outflow a newer \"smog\" type intake.. ya know? i think the mid 70\'s and 80\'s 350\'s made something weak like 190HP?? because they were all choked up with smog parts... but you\'re talking about 327 vs. a newer 350 intake right? maybe designed for more cubes=more flow. maybe someone else will reply.

go with a aftermarket intake. the stock one will make the power so if your strapped for cash keep it but if you have the extra money its worth getting an aftermarket intake. i know everyone likes the rpm intake but there are others out there that perform awsome. for a 327 i would try the old Z28 style intake. holley makes it. duel plain holley street dominator. brand new $125 you can find them on ebay for around $60 or less.

honestly id say a newer aftermarket intake is going to flow better than anything from the past. i think the kind of modern testing and technology that companies like edelbrock put into their intakes can\'t be beaten. also most of the edelbrock intakes arent smog legal, they do offer a few but the RPM air gap certainly isnt a smog oriented intake

Brando, regarding the Airgap, there\'s been a little talk here about Airgap\'s being kick-ass, BUT, also some talk of driveability problems, usually tied with cooler temps, etc. I was wondering about carb \"icing\". I see you\'re calling MI home.... it can get a little chilly up there I hear. \"Icing\" usually occurs with high humidity, but even without carb icing, the carb may just not get hot enough. If you use it in the winter up there, I\'d suggest a regular Performer RPM. OR, duct some hot air from across the exhaust manifolds into the carb for the winter.

........ I see \"Ice Queen\" saying pretty much the same thing.
