I have a 84 4wd blazer w/a 3\" body lift and a V-8. The column shifter hits the valve cover. Do I have to install a floor shifter next to the 4wd shifter?
Thanks Rob

I think another swapper said that you have to. Anyway I think that installing the floor shifter is better for racing. You can mate a promatic 2 from Hurst in there. I also think that other smaller shifters will definitely work.

You might be able to relocate the column an inch to the left. But then you may also have to rework the linkage. Would be easier to to a floor shifter.

personaly Id go with the floor shifter or as an alturnatiive convert your steering wheel shifter to use a cable instead of the metal shift linkages... like all the 94 and up\'s you can get the shift cable from gm and make a bracket for both ends..
