i just put my new cam in and it just doest want to rev past 5500...it has a .533 lift on the intake and .555 on the exaust side.does any one know what the spring presure should be ..and it is a hydralic cam from summit...the springs have 105-110 lbs of pressure on them..is that enough..or maybe it may be my hei...i have had this hei up to 8000 before ..but it has ben sitting around for a while http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

oh crap its one of those lil alien gremlins lurking in your engine http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif really judging from your post it seems to me that you do not have enough seat pressure you should be in the 130-150 range, your hei should be checked out and have a curve kit in it i have seen 7500 from an hei before it takes a big poop!!!!!!!!welcome aboard MSD.........btw did your valves float,do have adequate fuel flow-under a load......

i ask summit about it and they said that will that cam i should have 95 pounds for that hrdralic cam...i have 105-110 ..so the valves should be floating...i think i have them set to loose or to tight ...im just going to have some one else run my valves and see if it helps...it really making me mad ..it pulls so dam hard untill about 5500 and than pooooooooooops out ..i have a 14 pound holley pump with 1/2 in line..i have ran my 327 to 8000 with the same pump and line and hei...i\'ll get you guys posted .. thanks http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
