hello all....i just bought a 2000 chevy s10 extreme v6 five speed....i can afford basically parts for a v8 swap....my only demands are keeping fuel injection....basically i want to do a z06 swap with tranny or if i cant do that i would do a ls1 or lt1 preferably ls1 with a t56 tranny....if necassary i would do the auto but stick shift is preferable...the problem i run into is i only find shit for older s10s..i cant find a kit for my year...im told the new ones dont have many parts due to steering shaft mainly but other changes among the model years also...i want ot know if i can get a kit for the something as new as a 2000 and i want to know any more information about the swap that i can...i plan on doing the swap myself so custom fabrication is pretty much out of the question..i cant afford labor ill be in major debt as it is with the swap....so if anyone can help me out with information of any kind i would be really appreciative....if you can help me i would be so so so happy if i could get some ideas on how what why where and when...im new to the sport trucks..ive only done sport compacts in the past so the v8 motors are new to me....any help would be great....thank you for you time....

you may be in a jam for this swap, lots of custom fabrication and from JTR they say it is cheaper to put a supercharger on these 4.3 s10s than to convert to a v8..... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif

I got a buddy who has a supercharged 4.3 in his xtreme and it moves along pretty good. He also has a 94 Z28 with an LT1 6 speed and the truck beets it everytime by about 2 car lenghts. Go for the blower..i think its the best bang for the buck and you\'ll have it done in a weekend with basic hand tools.
