I have been given a 92 silverado 4x4 from my friend, I want to take the 350 (TBI) and put it in my 95 S-10!

I have been told that a 350 will bolt up to my NV3500 (5speed) transmission? also will i need the wiring harness from the silverado?

any help greatly appreciated!! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

what engine is in your s10 now?the swap should not be a big problem,i would for sure use the silverado harness, the trans maybe difficult unless you have a 4.3..

you\'ll need the mounts,if you have a 4.3 in there you need the 2.8 frame mounts and td motor mounts,i use the hedman shorties, try to use the serpentine acc system it may stand kind of tall if not the serp system i always use is fromthe 88-92 v8 camaro/firebird they set lower and look cleaner, some say they did not have to flatten the firewall lip it is still advised to do so extra room is a benifit, you should be at a real good start and be able to finish this project in a few days (3-5)depending....good luck http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

btw, i dont think you will need the harness from the 4x4 to get it together you already have a tbi in the s10..should be good to go in 3 days of work......keep us posted

thanks for all that information, I\'m very excited now that you have told me it will only take a couple of days to do!! but you have me confused on the \"try to use the serpentine acc system\" I don\'t know what that is?? and my wiring harness that i have right now will work with the 350?

also will my diff that i have right now be o.k.?

It\'s a one wheel wonder, i need posi!!!

Wiil the radiator fit from the silvy aswell??

thanks!!

I\'ll keep ya posted for sure, it\'ll be more than three days though, don\'t even have the motor out of the silvy yet!! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

The serpentine system is the belt drive system. Instead of having a different belt for each accessory...for instance power steering. altenator..ect..theres one belt to run everything. The harness in your S10 should work fine on the TBI 350, all the plug ins should be the same. Get the headers and 2.8 frame mounts and you should be good to go. Your 4.3 radiator should work fine. Invest in a good posi unit like Eaton or something. Have fun... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

92 Silverado is a guttless pigs (no offense). Why dont you take the 92 Silverado clean it up real nice and sell it. This would get you enough money for a decent motor, plus you wouldnt have a motorless truck sitting around?

thanks \"bohn333\" for that info, as for the silvy, it\'s finished, not one straight panel, used for making trails in deep woods, motor is a rebuild though, 20.000 KM!! Why is this motor so guttless? It is a 350!!

From the factory they are a little weak but you can liven them up with a cam swap. I have a \'90 full size step side and I freshened up the engine. I have about 300hp with the 5spd it gets up and goes pretty good.

Hey Guys!

I have the motor out of the Silverado, and I have one more question? It end up I need the harness from the Silverado, Will I also need the fusebox from the silverado, is this group of wires leading from behind the fusebox part of the wiring harness?, or is it just the wiring from the motor to the big plug on the firewall??

If it is part of the harness, does this mean I have lots of wiring to do inside the cab??

Thanks again!!

the wires from the coputer to the engine are what you need their may be a few that conect to the rest of the truck wiring youll need to conect these to your stock wiring harness

the reason the half ton is so slow is because they weigh 20 times mroe than a s-10... the whole 200 hp in a s-10 will move pretty good... it should keep up to a 5L pretty good

Hey did you ever get the swap completed??

I think hes thinking about the 4.3L version of the silverado those things suck at accelerating the 350 is fine and Id hate to break it to ls1s10 a 350 is a 350 and ive seen a couple of supercharged 350\'s run circles around a ls1 motor.

your harness should work just fine is it rotted out or something? also your going to have to reprogram the computer for the engine or see if you can swap the 92\'s computer onto your harness if it\'ll plug right in your set.

Th4e other thing you\'ll have to worry about is getting a calibration done for your tire size and rear gearing so your speedo reads right you can do this two ways first you can put a speedo signal adjuster box between the pule generator on the trans and the wire harness or second you can try and get someone to program the computer for the new ratio.

if you PM the serial number of the computer I may be able to help you out and add some performance gains to your computer aswell.
