I have now have 15 plus 1/8 mile passses on the truck at Oxford Dragway in Maine.

A great place to run. Everybody is really freindly and you can make all the passes you want. I ran 9 passes last thursday on street night.

I still havn\'t won a round yet but am not going to give up.

First week i dialed really tight and spun coming out of the hole and couldn\'t catch the other guy at the end of the track.

Last week i had a great chance to beat this new vette. He was having problems at the line spinning like me. He was running a 8.40 dial and I had a 8.20 but i pulled a .487 red light trying to get a good start. Well better luck next week.

My times are not very consistent. I am spinning about 3 car lengths from the start line.

Quickest 7.84 with a bunch of 7.90s

Speed is about 90 to 92 mph

Best 60 ft is 1.8 with most in the 2.0 range which really sucks.

I have gone as low as 14 psi on BFG 345/55/15 drag radials.

They get a little loose at the finish line, but fell fine when I am running 18 psi.

I am going to experment with weight next.

I will start with 200 lbs in the bed next to the tail gate.

I already have the fuel cell and a battery in the bed.

Wish me luck.

That is not to good a 60 foot time. My best 60 foot was 1.48 Usually I run a 1.5 something time. Adding weight helps but you need 1 HP for every extra 10 LBS. Sometimes heating up the tires really good helps. I found I have to take my Hoosers up to 5 grand in second and burn them for maybe 5 to 8 seconds. There are so many things that effect traction. Drag shocks, drag springs up front, a good set of traction bars (slide-a-link) and other things like that. Of course the battery and fuel cell should be placed in the left rear of the bed.

Being sure to stage in the grove helps a lot. I aways talk to other racers at the track. Sometimes they don\'t want to help out the compition but usually they are free at giving advice. The only problem is you will get so much conflicting advice that is difficult deciding who to beleive.

Added 220 lbs next to the tailgate and went 7.71 first pass.

They are not treating the track and i am using BFG drag radials.

My best 60 ft was 1.71

Do you go around the water, or do you let the front tires get wet? I always go around the puddle and back into it, then spin the tires slowly in the water and come out of the water and then let it spin for about 5-10 seconds at least. These things should improve the squirellyness of the truck at the end. I have bad 60ft times, like 2.0 due to spinnig at the line and at every shift, so I cannot comment on those.

Update:

I am driving through the water box. Traction is better now that i am learning how to do a burnout and proper tire pressure. They like 15-16lbs hot pressure. I need a heave burnout first run at the track then a light one is all that is needed for the rest of the night.

I have improved traction so much that I broke the stock 9inch axels last week. I have another set from Currie on the way. By the way they were great to deal with, which is another reason to go with the ford 9 inch. They can solve any rear problem quick and easy.

i dont agree with the psi you run. RADIALS act different than wrinkle wall slicks. i personally like no lower than 25psi cold. this gives me the best CONTACT patch on 8.5 inch rims. 28 with 10inch. no weight added. i dont have any current 60ft times to help because i have been rebuilding for over a year now.

this is just what works best for me. do what you like best.

your low psi is contributing to you being loose at the end of the track. just play with the #\'s to get what works best. trial and error.

have fun

just my 1.00 worth...lose the weight in the bed...get some real slick\'s...it should hook up and be faster with less weight ...those radial\'s are not the best for a s10...they work better on mustang\'s...camrao..etc...not a light s10...

I am running street night and they require dot tires.

I know there not the best as I am looking at the MT et streets for my next set.

I plan to keep the drag radials until they wear out. Looks like they have another 50 passes left in them!!!

Anybody have any experence with the MT sportsman pro\'s?

As for the tire pressure I am running huge 345/55/15 they are 14inches across. With 28 inches of tire back there it dosn\'t take much air in the back. I am going to try higher pressures just to check it out. They seem to not be as flat across the tread after 20psi.

I also just bought a 830cfm pro series holley to replace the 750vac sec carb. Along with the new digital programable ignition from msd to help control my spinning out of the hole.

This should help the bog 10 feet out. I had a 1.7 60 ft time last week with the truck almost stoping 10 feet out and then taking off again.
