i would put in a bigger cam than that ..since you have 4.11 gears..you need some duraction in the cam to have the gears pull ...with that little cam ..im sure that you will run out of cam...i have a 312 duration cam in mine with 4.11 gears and 3200 stall..go with the holley750 carb and with about 400 horse i know for a fact that you will get in the 12s ..this combo is great and i drive it almost every day

Yeah definately a bigger cam and stall. I currently am running a 750 CFM XE274 and 3000 stall on my street driven Blazer. You are going to be pretty much strip only and lighter. Run like a 292 duration cam and a higher stall. Call up Comp Cams and they will hook you up with the info you need and the stall converter to use thay are affiliated with TCI.

Why dont you guys start listing your cam specs rated @ .050. It does most of us no good to know a part # or stock # or what ever it is you are listing for a particcular brand. If we went that route i could list mine as a DH-CC6KF and most would have no clue what that was. Now if i do it like this....Doug Herbert cam CC6KF, .598/.625 @.050 lift. .253/.261 @.050 Duration. You kinda get a better idea.
Theres my rant for the day

Maybe i\'m old fashion but i perfer to know the real duration and lift of a cam. For the original question. I would go with a bigger cam like Knudsonm said. Mine is a 292 duration with a 480 lift and i love it, makes great power from 3,000RPM and up. A 3,000 stall would work great with this type of cam, but if your going with one of those you have listed go with the 274 and a 2200 to 2400 stall should work fine. The 750 holley should work great with either combo. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

this will be a play toy truck. it still has to pass emissions. or at least run clean out the pipes. no smog pump for me. will the xe274 cam be a good performer. i plan on only spinning 6000 rpm for now. Will the xe274 cam lope at idle. I don\'t want a pure drag truck. it was that and now i want to cruise it around and get stop light action. you say go bigger cam!!! Please list some names and part numbers so i can check them out. My goal is to outrun my friends ford lightning and my other friends stock 400sbc s10 and still be able to cruise it around and play at the drag strip every once in a while. please help with cam. heads and shortblock are already purchase the cam and carb are the only things i can change

ok...i drive my truck almost every day and to the track every other week end...and it 45 miles one way to the track...my 350 hits hard and has a huge hydralic cam...as long as you use a hydralic cam you can go as big as you want...but keep your comperssion down ..at least 10.1 and no higher for the street...im going to list every part in my truck for all you people to see ....it has double hump heads with 2.02 and 1.60 valves ported and polished ,,,rpm intake with 750 holley...hei distubor...my cam has 312 deg of duration on the intake side and 322 on the exaust side with .533 lift intake and .555 lift on the exaust side.. i also have good polly locks on the screw in studs...the push rods are comp eneginering pro mag...the fuel pump is a holley 14 pis pump..with stainless line from back to front...i have a turbo 350 tranny with a 10in conveter and 3200 stall with 4.11 gears ....with 3in 2 chamber flowmasters...i have found that this comb works great in a s10 ..and it is driven a lot and has had no problems..this cam makes some serious bumbing sound..i love it http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

More cam recommended - call the cam manufacturers. The xe274 will get you close to 12\'s maybe high 12\'s
