engine way too high

i bolted my engine in, but it is way too high and even with all the bashing of the firewall i would do it still wouldn\'t clear. i used the 2.8 v6 mounts but i bolted them to the frame with the holes that were already there, i just had to tap them. do i have to re-drill holes to lower the motor oh what? (for info i have a 94 2.2l)

I just welded v8 mounts to the frame it made the engine sit lower then the conversion mounts I just used a spacer plate to adjust for the location of the cross member.. BTW your engine and trans are suppose to be tilted at an angle not straight accross just incase thats why your having trouble.. otherwise I cant help you anyone else know?

after 7 hrs i think i figured it out. i trimmed off the little nips on the end of the 2.8 mounts and cut l shapes in the corners (very small) and that made my adjustment perfect
