I figured out the rack and pinion setup! I\'m using a 99 ford ranger setup. I had to fab a bracket ,cut off the skid plate,shorten the tie rod shafts and use f-body tie rod ends(same thread as the ranger but shorter). I plan on welding another skid plate on after everythig is up and running.

well there are alot of reasons. less weight,better handling,looks cool,hardly anyone has it,no clearance problems with the exhaust and it lets me put the alternator on the bottom where the gear box was.
