Posi stock rearend

I was wondering what it would take if possible to use my stock rearend out of my 85 and make it posi or what kind of cheap posi i can get from a junk yard that will bolt up. Thanks

Buy a Auburn Gear carrier from Jegs or Summit. Cost about $315, It is my experience that the Auburn is a better unit than the Eaton but each to his own preference.

hey thanks for the info. So I can just order it and whatever and what is the extent of this project. Is it going to be a couple of days to do and take out the whole rearend or is it fairly simple. Thanks

If you buy a posi unit you\'ll have to rebuild the rear. If you want to leave the rear end in and do the job then a Protrax might be better. They are a ratchet type and I\'ve heard good things about them but they are only as strong as the rear itself and a 7.5\" is weak. I\'d say save up for a beefier rear and don\'t go through the hassles.
