Ok I\'m talking about cars here ... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
Anyways I\'m getting my stuff planned out and some people I have talked to think that the stock rear in my S10 will go out pretty quickly... I wasn\'t sure if this was true, what do you guys think? I plan on running around 300hp at the crank. The rear I have is for a 2wd originally 4 cyl, i believe it\'s a 12 bolt but not positive... and not sure about ratio.

It is probably a 7.5\" 10 bolt. It will hold up for a while because you won\'t get traction but don\'t take my word for it. I\'d recommend a rearend swap ASAP to save yourself the headaches and the possibility of crashing because of a broken axle.

They came with a wide ratio of gears, all the way to 4.10\'s. You can check the glove box, or the code on the rear end. I\'ve seen tons of 7.5\'s break, and some hold up. Just depends on your truck. Most likely, you hook up good, got some power, its gonna break

If your rear is stock,it is a 71/2 or 75/8\'s 10 bolt. There was an 81/2 in 10 bolt as an option starting in 95. If you have a V8 with serious power and a hard driver you will blow your rearend,so rather than spen money on the stocker, buy a used 81/2[$400 to $800] depending on what year and where you buy it.
About your s10 gears, I\'m driving an 88 s15 (s10) 2.5L 5 speed with 3.73 gears. I have found that most models with this setup have 3.73 gears. My other s10 (82) has a v8 engin and I have changed the rear end several times. Once it locked up at 50mh wiled racing my friend with his camaro, i gust about roled it. Look for an late 60\'s early 70\'s bronco rear end.
