Ok, so I am rebuilding a 350 I had just picked up to replace my knocking 350 in my 95 s10. When I disassembled the engine, I found that the #7 cylinder had a spun rod bearing. So rather than geting my crank reground I have found two cranks that I am interested in. The first is a new forged stock crank for $220, and the second is a eagle cast crank for $285, which can handle 500hp. Which one is a better deal ? both are new, how much hp can stock forged cranks handle ? thanks for your help

the factory crank is pretty strong...it will handle more than what a normal person can come up with....but i would get the eagle ...this way if you ever decide on getting some serious power and add a lot of nitrous or a blower the crank will be ok...and you will not have to worry about...
