Just got back from the Emergency Room.

Well, Just got back from Having my Platinum Wedding Band cut off my finger. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif Just got finished rebuilding and installing an engine in my Mother-in-laws car.I got everything hooked up and noticed that i needed to connect the battery cable.So i got my 6mm wrench to tighten the cable down, and noticed that the battery has metal all around it. So i took my time so i wouldnt accidently ground the wrench out on anything.I had to use my left hand and forgot about the wedding band, Guess what. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif I wished i had gotten a gold wedding band when i got married, The gold wouldve just melted or burnt through.But nope, my wife insisted on platinum because i am rough with jewelry.The ring welded itself to a bolt on the front end and the other side welded itself to the wrench.Let me tell you, It was the hottest sensation that i every felt. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif I had to take my rubber mallet to knock the wrench off of the battery.( i am just glad that it was there under the hood.!) I have to twist my hand to break the ring free from the car, then i twisted the wrench free from my ring.I was juiced for 3 seconds and was scared that the battery would explode! Needless to say , my size 13 ring looks like a size 6 from the swelling.It was so bad that i had blisters on both sides of the ring and blisters on the 2 surrounding fingers. Well i try to cut the ring off with some large cutters, wrong, wouldnt work.Finally get to the hospital and they could not find their ring cutter. At this point i am trying to leave the hospital to go to the hardware store to get some bolt cutters.Finally the nurse listened and call maintenance to come up with some bolt cutters.They showed up with some 3\' bolt cutters and i am laughing, they were scared they would cut my fingers.I told them to let me see the cutting end, when i got it where it needed to be, i told them to cut it. The doctor then grabs some pliers to remove the ring.I am like, Doc, we need to cut the other side, Platinum isnt going to bend, so we cut the other side.The Doctor freaks when he sees the finger with the ring off.He couldnt believe that i didnt need anything but ice for pain.The pressure off the ring is what was hurting, but felt fine after it was cut off.They think that i might of destroyed the nerves becaused the finger was cooked.He said i should have been screaming because of the burns, I gotta go back tommorrow morning to see if i will need surgery. Lesson learned !

but did you fix the car....just kiddin...i shocked my self on the battery with my ring....i also was moving a motor one day and it sliped and it pulled like half the skin -meat off my finger.....so now when i work on motor or doing a job ..i take it off and put it up...

Yep, Its finished just got finish with the timing , took it down the road.( Dont tell my wife) http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif .I will definitely take jewelry off now before i work on anything. Everythings cool, I am definitely gonna live.

Been there, done that. At least mine was gold. Now the wife doesnt complain if I take it off at work, plus the scar is in the shape of my ring. She wanted to get me a new band for our anniversary this year. But I told her no way. If she complains I dont have it on I just pull it out of my pocket and show her the \"weld\" marks,

I saw the aftermath of my buddies finger after his ring melted around his while hooking up batteries. Yours is way more jacked up looking than his was. Hopefully no surgery is needed.



Good or Bad, you now have a permenant wedding ring.
