I wonder if someone can answer my question. I have a 1988 S-10 Blazer with a fuel injected 2.8 motor in it. If I change it over to a carburated 350 v8 will I be able to hook my stock gauges to it without any trouble? I have the deluxe instrument cluster with the tach and I want to keep a stock appearance and feel to my vehicle. I didn\'t know if the computer would have anything to do with the operation of my gauges. Would it be better to go to a TBI fuel injected 350? Thanks

my voltage guage still works on mine, and the check engine light comes on from time to time, have no clue why, I didn\'t hook it up, or don\'t even know where to hook it to? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

Your temp, oil, and voltage/amp guages should work, but your tach is not because it is made for a 6 cylinder. Well theres my $.02.

Thanks for all the replies that were left, I went ahead and bought the S-10 V8 handbook, ( which I would tell anyone that is wanting to do this swap to purchase first!), it had a section in it about recalibrating the tach, its as simple as taking the circuit board and changing out a capacitor, it even had pictures so you can see what needs to be done. Great Help!

pull the fuse out for the ecu and that will cure your engine light problem. you dont need it if you went to carb.
