Hey all,

Just an update on the carb pop and other misc. problems.

All the pop was, was too small of a pump squirter. Went two sizes bigger and no more pop. The jack ass mechanic took two weeks to try to fix (unsuccesfully) a problem that took me about 15 minutes. Needless too say it\'s the last time I take it to that guy.

Also dynoed the truck. It made 285 whp at 5500. We saw the AF around 15:1 which prevented us from giving it the right amount of advance. It\'s only at like 10-11 degrees initial right now until I get the lean problem fixed. So I\'m hoping for over 300 at the wheels when it\'s fixed.

Oh yeah we put the sniffer in the other tail pipe and the AF dropped to around 12.5:1 on the right side. The dyno operator guessed the problem was my single plane manifold. He said a dual plane would fix it. Does this make sense to you guys? He said something about the air would flow through the best working venturi and which ever side that venturi was on would get more air, causing it to run lean on just one side. Could it just be something as simple as an exaust leak?

If you read this whole post then God bless you.

Sorry for the book.

i read the whole thing +- 5 words, i don\'t know anything though.

question though, is \"squirter\" the technical name for, well, the squirter?

if you are driving street then go with a dual plane. you wont be turning enuf rpm\'s to benifit a single plane. an exhaust leak will affect the tail pipe reading but not by much. unless it is a big leak.

\"squirter\" is the not-so-technical name for the accelerator pump nozzle
