my 350 trans is blowing fluid out of the top of the filler tube. i thought i had overfilled it, so i drained some and check the level again. it happens at around 65mph. do i need a cooler? i am running a 2600 stall converter
Yes ,I would run a cooler and also I run my turbo 400 JUST above the add line. I have a 3500 stall and she runs alittle warm

maybe the tranny is making to much presure...how long has it been doing it...
yes, you need a cooler for an automatic tranmission. Does your radiator not have one?

i\'ve seen TH350 dump fluid at higher rpm\'s through that tube because there overfull, but if it does it all the time when the fluid level is good then i would think something in the pump is not right. If you don\'t have a tranny cooler or anything running to the radiator that might cause it, it would build up to much pressure and spit the fluid out that tube, tranny lines also relieve pressure inside the tranny.

i have transmission lines running to my vette radiator. i double check the fluid level again, because sometimes when i check the level it is low and check again is seems to be overfilled. i\'ll probably add another cooler also . thanks for the info

Just a thought, pull the rubber line off hte vent on top of the trans. Blow air in with a compressor, sometimes, the vent will plug, leaving the only path for pressure is out the dipstick and the pressure will usually take some fluid with it.
Hope that helps

My TH350 did the same thing and it was becasue the steels were bad (per tranny guy).
Mine puked ATF on the hot headers and caught fire, BEWARE http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
