factory 350 s10

did you know that theres is a factory built s10 truck with a lt1 350..it\'s called the s10 stalion ..it has a 350 with a-c radio heater ..every thing...you have to special order it..it\'s just like the ford cobra and lightings ...they are avaiable but you have to order it...none of thses car-truck are adverested on tv..they come with a 30,000 mile warranty also..the first prototype was the first generation body ..but is only built using the newer body...the article said that the only dirrenence is the body and the frame and steering is the same...i not crazy..if any one has ever heard this also ..let me know ..and share it with every one.. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

Who told you that? I\'m pretty sure you can\'t. I know a few prototypes were made, back around the early 90\'s I belive. it was when they were building the Ty/Sy\'s

K thats fine, I also get inside scoop to whats goin on for GM since i talk with the owners of one of the largest dealerships on the west coast. Any hoo i don\'t need to defend my self I was just tellin you what i know. They will be coming out with some vehicles with badging on them, special edition vehicles.

The only new small truck from Chevy that you can order with a V8 is the SSR and you\'ll be on a long list. I have a friend who is a sales man at a GM dealer and he has never heard of a factory S10 with a V8, sure theres prototypes!! If this is true then i want an option number so i can order one.

i also work at gm dealer and never have heard of a gm factory one im sure many big convertion places have done some.i have heard other people say that gm made some but have never seen it gm should make some .

I know GM has made at least one, they did it with all factory parts, never heard anything about them selling them, I guess if someone had the money GM would build you anything you wanted.

well,i do know for a fact that you can purchase an s10 with an LT-1 OR an Ls1 in it brand new BUT,it comes from a company in florida,a freind of mine named chip has one it was like 30,000 he bought it 2 years ago,he lives in texas,used to run the pro 5.0 shootouts,you can see his old stang at hotrodgossip.com in the readers rides page#3 his real name is charlie....this truck was not built by chevy..... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif

The s-10 that came with a factory small block is the ss s-10 they didn\'t make to many of them though and it is in around 96 or so that they made them.

Wrong the SS package was nothing more than the ZQ8 suspension package and some badges. There never was a factory SBC s-10, period.

GM built a factory vortec 350 s-10, it was sold in Brazil in 1997 according to a Popular Mechanics article from the same year. From what I\'ve gathered it seems the biggest problem with a factory V-8 in America is crumple zones, theres not enough space in an S-10 as its designed for the V-8 not to come into the passenger compartment in a wreck...basically it wouldnt pass govt crash tests

i agree with Mike. i worked at a chevy dealership in the late 80s-early 90s. the factory made protos but decided they were not feasible to mass produce(don\'t know why) that is why they opted for the 4.3L instead

... fisrt of all... peopl;e lie... it\'s ptretty easy to build a v8 s-10 and tell people that gm made it... i\'ve seen some of these trucks with the factory a/c and everything on them and they look very very stock... it\'s no ifferena thtat guys with their 1970 \"judge\" when all hey did was took a lemans and put gto badging and the judge stripeds on it... and i\'m pretty sure gm never sold one to the public... i imagine that they were playin around with the v8 in 88 when they decided to go with the 4.3, personally i think that the ty/sy would have been sweet with a twin turbo version of a vette enigne in it instead of the 4.3 but even so they still haul ass

He\'s right,but GM wansn\'t the company that built them it was another company.



I have a car craft from about 1992 that tells about them.The truck in the article was a first gen and they were planning on building v8 2nd gens and i think you could order them through Gm some GM dealers

Come on don\'t you think if GM made these things there would be a lot of them around and every magazine would have tested them?

The reason no one has tested them is cuz they NEVER and I repeat NEVER made or have plans to make any. Sure they might have played with concept cars but they didn\'t make them.



Guys I have been into ALL hot rods and trucks since like 1968-1969 and still have magazines dating back to 69 so trust me when I say I have seen everything (well almost everything) and I have only seen an atricle back in the mid 90\'s where a company in Mi. was doing a V-8 S-10 that GM would give a factory warranty with and you could order it with either the 700th or even a 6 speed. It came with 4 wheel disc brakes and was a rocket.



Now let us know what magazine you have seen ALL these trucks in...please.

Well like i said the one i saw was in a Car Craft from about 91-93 and they called them stallions. That was the time i ever saw one again.

I looked for a hour or so for the mag last weekend but couldn\'t find it.



I\'d bet the company went bankrupt before they sold any.

Well, I had a Vega that I bought new from the dealer and it had a big block in it.



Then I had a Citation that I bought new from the dealer and it had twin turbos and I had a Celebrity I bought new from the dealer and it was RWD and had a Roots Type Blower on a LS7 and it had a full waranty.
