Tonight I\'m heading out to the local Dragstrip (Kilkare). I\'ve been wanting to race my dad for a long time now. He thinks he\'s going to kill me. I think otherwise. Let me know what you think the results will be...
2000, S-10 ex-cab Xtreme 4.3L, hypertech comp upgrade, K&N air intake, heavy ass fiberglass toneau(?spelling) cover...
VS.
1987 S-10 standard cab, 305 V8, Edelbrock Performer Carb & Intake, shift kit
(we both are running the same dual exhaust)

the 4.3 is\'t a dog....ok..who has better tires...if you spin you may loose...if you hooked up iwould say that you will win...if you got street tire and are not hooking up...try leaving the line easy than about the 60ft mark get down in it...let\'s us know

That\'s what I planned on doing. We both have street tires, but mine are much newer...
We\'ll see after tonight I guess.. If I lose I\'m going to just have to really start looking hard for a new motor..

If you lose, then get some nitrous! I think that you can run 75 shot no prbs. he would be shocked, when he get blown away 20 feet before the finish line! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

yeah, his last slip was 15.9.
Think I can beat it if I get traction?

Maybe, but I think that the RT is key here. just red-light and you can beat him. You should have better reaction time since you are younger, but I know that practice makes perfect.

He already said that if I red light that I lose...
I doubt I\'ll have a better reaction time. He\'s been racing Drag Bikes his entire life. They used to be #1 in the country in Prostock Motorcycles. So I don\'t think that\'s going to happen...

i see it every week end...a 13 sec car out run a 12.50 car...cuase the reaction time...1/2 second is a lot in drag raceing..he ran a 15
.9 last time..you should be about 14.50-90\'s..

Ok, I went to the track but my dad didn\'t run with me...
I did however get a quicker E.T.
I ran a 15.4 - 89 mph in 90 degree heat.
I have a pretty much stock 85\' carbed 305. Not bad I guess. We still need to do a little tuning on her, but she\'ll work for now. I\'m thinking of buying a 327 or 350 soon.
