ok, so yesturday, i went to Lebanon ValleyDragway with the customers of The Driving Image for his Gear Head Gathering....... first of all it has been rained out 2 other times before, and yesturday was a great day besides the heat! (around 90 and very humid)

well this would have been my fastest run..... i let it cool while we ate lunch, and what slowed me down was that my blower belt came off again at like 5000 rpm in 3rd..... and i thought i blew it up so i lifted and hit the brakes!!! prob would have been a 12.7...

and that run was against a brand new C5 with exaust and intake and chip..... he went 13.325@105.72!!! i killed my first vette!!!



all in all it was a great day..... just wish my belt didnt fall off! o well, i learned a lot and hope to go again..... some notes on my runs, they are on my stock street tires.... they are mastercraft 225/50/16\'s..... i think with slicks i would be maybe in the 11\'s....... what do you all think? also i am only running 4lbs of boost!!! and i am getting my 7 lb and 11 lb pullies today!!!!! imagine the possibilities!!! i am soooooooo happy with my times! maybe when it is cooler i will pick up a few tenths!!!

It sounds like ou have a roots type blower. I saw that hot-rod has an article on centrifugal versus roots versus turbo a boost shootout. They had trouble with the overdriven roots, since you have to back the timing out with that much boost. I think that you did really well on street tires. How much did you spin the tires and what RPM did you launch at?

i spun through first and second...... and then chirped them into third and a little through it, but thats really when i started to move is when i was in third! i launched at 1000 rpm and tried a couple at 1500, but it didnt really help much, also, i started the tranny in second so it short shifted first for me, and gave me less spin off the line..... yea, its a B&M 144 little blower, it fits under my cowel hood! i cant wait to try the 7 lb pulley, and slicks!

Your times are good for your first time out. Never ran a blower, so I won\'t attempt to help there. Slicks will improve your launches and 60ft times. Main thing is, sounds like your had FUN!! the very first motor i had in my truck was a near bone stock 350..it ran 14.0\'s-14.20..ever time...i could make pass after pass with no problem\'s...it\'was\'t that fast ..but man i had some fun....that\'s important to me..fun ..it suck\'s to have to work on it every other pass....ive think about puttin some low compression piston\'s in my 427 big block and gettin a 177 blower....but your\'s sound like fun..
