anytime you add a stall to a trans your shifts will soften up a bit some more than others but this is very common, what type of shift kit do you have installed,is the vacuum mod hooked up?

its some home made mods by my friend in jacksonville that gave me my tranny so can not be 100 % on shift kit... yes vac hooked

I think if the tranny does not shift up to 6k, then it does not know what the gas pedal is doing so there must be a vacuum leak, or you need the cable hooked up. I have heard many people say that on a 2WD you do not need the cable, but on 4WD you do. Anyway I also think that your cam has less low end torque than your old one that is why you shift soft. I can check for you on the RPM that your cam starts making power.

cam is good from 3k to 7500. and it is shifting at less rpms i was saying i had to tach it up like that to get a real hard shift

Try and connect the cable, maybe that\'ll help. I also think that the shiftkit is supposed to make it a harder shift. If there is not shiftkit, then that might be it and it might just be that you might just need to flush it out with some transX or something. I think that the hardness of the shifts has to do with how fast the clutches engage so maybe a fluid and filter change could help.

it\'s the converter

B&M higher stall converters are soft, plain and simple.

I\'m willing to bet that you got a higher stall converter than you should have. Possibly put in the wrong box
