Okay I know I don\'t have a 4x4 ,but my daughters boy freind wants to put a V-8 is his 88 S-10. We have collected most everything except the oil pan. As a cheap S.O.B. I was wondering if anyon has evere taken a 4.3L pan and a 350 pan and joined them together to make a pan to fit? I\'m the kind of person that will spend hours to save a buck and say I made it myself.

Mine looks like it is a bit more than just that. On my oil-pan, which by the way is very visible since my front diff is out, there are a few big long welds that have replaced the middle 1 foot of the pan and the back of the pan is deeeeep. It also has the corner cut-off on it like the TH350 pan, but on the driver\'s front of the sump. My builder said that this pan comes with a weird pickup. I could be wrong, but I can take you a good picture if you so desire.

I did. Used the 4.3 back portion and welded the front portion of the SBC on to extend it out. Just make sure the holes all line up. May want to get a set of oil pan rails to help seal the pan since it will warp a little from the welding. Mine worked great.

you can do what you want as long as you get the oil pick up in the right position. i put a 500 caddy in an elcamino (tight fit) and had to use 3 different pan mended together to get thedesired shape. worked great.
