It was pretty good. I got a kick out of the \" I got you on the loser flyby\" I swear that happens every time they get whooped.

haha. stupid bastards.ive heard more than one of those excuses before. i got the motor in my truck and raced my buddy jon with his eclipse. spanked him good. he put a cold air intake on it last week and wanted to race again thinkin this thing was givin him all kinds of extra power. spanked him again. so what do i hear? \"well you just wait till i get my -(insert random part here)- then im gonna whoop your ass. my car is gonna make 3 million horsepower once i get my -(insert random part here)- installed\" yea, right dude. better luck next time. douchebag

I grew up during the \"glory days of muscle cars\" and back then, there were no excuses. If ya got beat, ya got beat, period. Hey, at a sanctioned track, first one across the traps wins, no excuses. I just can\'t figure out this ricer bunch. I\'ve smoked enough of these clowns with a \'02 S-10 crewcab and all I\'ve done to it is a K&N filter and the hypertech powertuner and all they do is spew excuses or try to deny they were even racing me. I can\'t wait to get the 350 in my S-10 Blazer!

ya i don\'t understand why people make excuses, if i lose, i don\'t make excuses, i just tell the guy that won good job. and if i win i don\'t rub it in either, like i have a friend that raced this guy and it was the most dead even race i had ever saw, but he ended up winning by like maybe a foot and later he was telling everyone how he kicked the guys ass....i don\'t really get that either

\"all they do is spew excuses or try to deny they were even racing me\"
example: im sittin at a light and some kid pulls up next to me with an 01 eclipse. by the looks of it alls he did to it was tint the windows, put a big ugly wing on the back, and put a fart knocker on the exhaust. my guess if he heard my exhaust when i was sittin next to him so he starts revvin it. i acted like i wasnt even gonna entertain the idea. the light turns green and i jumped on it from idle, he was holdin it at like 4000-5000 rpm. needless to say he got smoked like it was nobodys business. we get to the next light, and my 2 buddies i got with me are laughin at him and so am i. now my one buddy adam leans across me and out my window and yells \"damn dude, you just got embarassed.\" his answer: \"i wasnt really racin you.\" yea right man. your car idles at 4000 rpm. is that it? maybe if you put an even bigger wing on it and some 18\" wheels youll go even faster. moron

I think the best race I was ever in was between my \'72 Chevy LUV with a 327/350 Vette motor and a guy I knew who had a pretty bad 396 Camaro. We were runnin\' pretty much dead even when some fool pulled out in front of us. He nailed the brakes and got in behind me when we went blasting past the idiot. Afterwards, there was none of this \"I would have won if...\" nonsense. We were both just glad that it didn\'t end in disaster. We never did race each other after that so I guess we\'ll never know who would have won but since I\'m alive to type this, I guess it doesn\'t really matter.

Yeah, I think I read somewhere that the fastest car in the movie really ran 13.9 or something. the rest were like 16\'s or slower. That\'s Hollywood for ya!

i love the part in that movie where the charger races that....whatever car it is where they beat the train.......ya bullshit flag on that one. didn\'t they say the charger did a 9 sec quarter....if that other car could do that i\'d crap my pants. that movie has so much b.s. in it.

The car that raced the charger was a Toyota supra. These things are actually pretty fast stock and heavily modded ones have been know to run 9 secs on pump gas pulling the wheels. There was one at the imports vs. domestics drags at my local track that was running high 10s on street tires.
I actually got a chance to run a slightly modded twin turbo supra on the street and pulled away from him until about 100mph when I let off. He was only about 2-3 car lengths behind. Beat him, but not by much and that was with a 10.5:1 AFR headed 355 and 4:10s. At the time I was making 285 whp on the dyno. The big difference is I\'ve got about $10,000 - $13,000 in my truck and a used TT supra goes for well over $20,000 + mods. New they were like $40,000.
Now if it was a civic...

I never actually saw \"The Slow and the Disillusioned\", Oopps, I mean \"The Fast and the Furious\". I do want to rent it once just to see what the big fuss is.
Another one to watch are RX7\'s. I have a great deal of respect for Mazda rotarys as well as a few really funny stories. Anyway, I\'ve seen some pretty fast RX7\'s as well as Supras. Most ricers around here are running Nissans with VTEC stickers, Type R Hondas (notice something funny here?), even a 5.0 Escort! Yeah right! In other words, all \"show\", no go, and a lot of misplaced emblems and stickers as well as rear wings that look like they came off a 747. There was one Honda Civic around here that actually was pretty quick but it disappeared. I found out later the guy had a turbo, intercooler and nitrous ON A STOCK MOTOR! Needless to say, it went boom!
the only rx7s that are even close to fast are the turbo ones. All of my friends have NA rx7s and they got the exhaust that makes them sound like chainsaws runnin up and down the road lol but anyways I raced them once with my 3/4 ton dodge diesel 4x4 and kept up lol. all i can say is that I hope the turbo rx7s are a lot faster.

I started out as a ricer, but after driving my first S10 for the first time, I got some sense. I have been racing one of my S10s for the past 3 years with the spray.
I know the reason they have all those excuses is because they never won and had to listen to the same crap. Most of them did not build their vehicle but spend as much as us for a body kit and cold-air intake and some neons. Building ricers is crazy expensive!
I also do not like the image those movies gave nitrous.

I know that i had my azz handed to me one time with a supra, and i was spraying the vette. It really surprised me. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif I dont know what all he had going on under the hood, but it hurt my feelings pretty bad.Thats been quite awhile ago though....Jay

There was a place in Manassas Virgina that specialized in modifiying Mazda RX7\'s. We used to watch them \"road test\" some of them in the industrial park where they were located and they were quite fast, both straight line and around the corners. Of course the bottom line is if you have the money, you can make anything fast.

big IF on the money

Well, that\'s the thing around where I live. Most of the younger crowd don\'t have the money. That\'s why most of the ricers are all show and no go (and not much on the show part). On the other hand, there\'s some really nice street machines owned by older people who are either doctors or lawyers or upper corporate management. They have the bucks. They can afford the nice \'69 rs/ss396 Camaro convertible or Shelby Mustang or whatever. Unfortunately, I\'m not one of them. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_frown.gif

Thats the fast and furious, the car that beat the charger is a twin turbo supra making 750 horsepower with 200 shoot of nitrous its tops out at 198 mph. it is a stright six, to not four bangger

I had mine handed to me by an old VW Beetle once. Talk about embarrassing! Truth is, if ya got enough money, you can make ANYTHING go fast.

yeah i\'d say supra\'s have my respect. We had a guest speaker 2 years ago in a class at high school, and he was kind of a rich mofo. he had a supra... which he finangled and had both turbo\'s running constantly, instead of one kicking in at a certain rpm. It was wicked i suppose. Now i hear he\'s gone away from turbos and put a very large supercharger on it. some ungodly hp ##\'s like that grand national video that made 1076hp... not quite that much, maybe 800-900. But i don\'t want to know how much $$$$ he\'s got invested.
