what are the simptoms of a bad one?



im getting intermittent bogging when i accelerate.

the float levels are ok, havent looked at the spark plugs yet.

its a 4160.

A power valve will make it bog. There cheap to change. If it still does it, check your fuel pressure, mine developes a bog when the pressure is to low. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

when i had a weak pump iot would bog at higher rpm\'s... just check it out

one good back fire and the holley power valve is gone

Holley Power Valves are so easy to blow. I had a Holley in a 79 El Camino with a built 350 in it a long time ago, and it did absolutely nothing except give me problems and more problems. Quadrajets and Edelbrocks are the way to go.

i had a really good backfire flames and smoke and some dog hair from the drive way came out from the carb would that be the reason my truck runs like crap. for more info check out the topic hose beast
