Alright, I have an 87 cavalier... (4 cyl) well, today before work I had a small leak of antifreeze, well turns out, the lines on the heater core were cracked, so I got a new heater core, no leaks now. but its over heats.. its full of coolent, wtf is wrong? any suggestions, please help, I\'ve gotta have my car for t/m morning... I don\'t know whut else could be wrong. the heat is working and all.. the fan is working.. I checked the oil, there is nothing in the oil so thats fine... HELP!?!?!

air in the coolant passages. when you changed the core air got in the engine. when you filled it up it could be trapped in the system not allowing coolant to circulate. bleed out the air and that should fix it.

turn on your heater and let the engine run. take the radiator cap off before you crank it and keep on filling up the rad as the level of coolant goes down. the heater core is has the air in it, or the head. Maybe something that is higher (elevated) has the air in it, check hoses. ALso make sure that your wateerpump did not go south, since the leak?
