I have an \'89 S-15 pickup with 4.3 and 190K+ miles on it. For the past few years it has been developing the classic lean. It looks about 1.5\" lower on the left than the right. Probably from carrying my fat but around too long. A while back I put new shocks all the way around it but that didn\'t help any. My next step is springs I guess. I don\'t want to lower it but I do want it to set right. Should I start with the front or rear? How much work and money are involved in each? I am hoping for a 350 soon so that will just add more weight to the front. Please give me ideas where to start. Thanks, Kenny.
I would guess springs too http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/ylsurprise.gif

if it was my x-cab i would do the front springs first,if you are going to v8 your truck you should get a set of springs( NEW)for a monte carlo ss,same type of spring but is rated for a v8 as for the rear possibly a new set of springs, your truck may level out by doing the front......

Thats funny, mine leans to the right...Probably all of the torque bending the chassis,LOL j/k. Seriously though, if you look at mine from the back you can see it leaning to the right...but i think thats because its been wrecked. It appears to just be the bed is off a little....did you check and see if thats what yours is doing.

How many miles on your truck? After time the bushing will rot and cause a lean, but 1.5 is a big lean. Are you sure that you don\'t have a broken spring? Change front springs and see if that helps, changing bushing would probaly be good if it has alot of miles on it. Even if you have a broken leaf spring, which is common then the whole truck would lean. Just some things to check.

Are you serious. will these springs actually work? I have wanted stiff front springs for awhile but never knew where to look. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

I am pretty sure the truck has never been wrecked since it only had 15k on it when I got it. Besides that I notice the lean from the front and back both. I might have exadgerated in saying 1.5\", I haven\'t actually measured it but it is enough that it is noticable from across the parking lot at work or in the drive way. I had also thought about the bushings since it has 190k on it. I think I will start with springs then do the bushings too. Thanks for the replies, Kenny

i remember reading in a past issue of TRUCKIN\' magazine about the front suspension of the s trucks they said that a lot of people don;t know it but the s trucks actually sit 1\" lower on the drivers side and the belltech kit comes with a spring spacerbecause when you lower the truck it actually becomes more noticable... i\'m not sure if it applies to the older body style truck though because theywere doing a 98 blazer in one of their tech sections... but as far as i know the suspension never really changed much

A buddy of mine had a 4X4 and he got concerned about the lean he had he said it measured the same on the wheel houseings I took a couple of quick measurments of the cab.
The S trucks are quite common for bad mounts and the front cab mount ( actually the floor of the cab ) go soft.
That was his problem the rubber mount had gone through. An hour and a half the truck was back up and running, just welded a new piece of steel where the mount goes ( on the cab ).
