Transfer case swap

My current project is to take the engine and transmission out of a 97 or 98 silverado and transplant it into my 86 blazer. The silverado xfer case and the stock blazer case are mostlikely different and have different splines. Can someone either tell me the differences in the splines and bolt patterns or point me to a site that can?

Another thing to keep in mind is get a 4x tranny otherwise you will have to swap out the output shaft if you get a 2x tranny. I think the shaft was like 70 bucks but don\'t hold me to it.

The doner truck was a 4x4 to start with. Im just not sure if i want to use the currect xfer case or the one that is with the new tranny.
