well...i found my problem....the new cam i put in went flat..i mean really flat..it only had like 20 miles and 1 quater mile pass on it..i guess that explaains my 12.90 sec pass when it should have been 11.90....i know that i set the valves right...i know my springs are right...i think it was a manfucture defect..i got it through paw...it is there paw brand....two of the lifters is eat up...on side is longer than the other and 5 of them looked like i took a hammer to them .....they were all new when i put them in.....but hey this shit happen when you race....i think i\'ll try a smaller cam with about 292 dr..and about .515 lift ...what do you guys think.... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

Get a roller cam and lifters, you can then get high lift with a little lower duration and keep the streetability. If you had no interferance with the .533 lift than by all means get a roller, also look into the valve springs you are running maybe they were a little stiff for the cam. Don\'t go cheap on cams you should have gotten a Comp or Crane or Lunati to start and you probably wouldn\'t be having this problem. The cam is the brains of an engine and in my opinion the single most influential component in a cars performance.

Yet another example of P.A.W junk. Like i said before, after having one of they\'re stroker kit\'s fall apart and hearing of guys that get one of they\'re(PAW\'s) complete motors that are bored .060 and have a cyl. sleeved, and a crank that is turned .030/.030 i will never get another engine part from them unless its something that is made by a name brand company. NOT by them.

Chris - just remember \"cheaper is not always better\".LOL But then again \"expensive is not always better either\". I\'ve bought expensive junk too. Name brands are usually best. I\'ve heard a lot of bad stories about PAW and other \"discount\" performance stores.
