im actually asking this question on behalf of a friend of mine. my buddy has a beretta and he cannot for the life of him get the idle to smooth out. it idles real erratic. its a 91 with a 3.1 vin T. he has so far replaced the IAC, MAP, and TC sensors. and still no luck. any ideas?

Check for vac. leaks. I have a 93 Beretta with 175,000 miles (3.1) no major problems. Does it run ok when you are axcellerating?

runs fine while accelerating, its only when idling

Is it TBI or Mpfi? I would check the TPS voltage. It should be a smooth transition of about 0.5V at idle to 5V at WOT. Also check for vacuum leaks with WD40 or carb cleaner.

its mpfi. the tps is new.

Check for Vacumn leaks, and posibly clean the throttle body around the butterfly
