I replacing the 2.5l/5 speed combo in my 88 2wd s-10 with a 406/350 combo. The motor has stock mechanical fuel pump, do i need a fuel pressure regulator or have to change anything at all regarding the fuel? roy

Just remove the intank pump and replace it w/ a length of hose

No ya can use the mechanical one still on teh v-8,,, but ya can go with electrical little more work involved thou.

Are you sure it has a mechanical pump. Mine is an 86 and has a electric pump. I used a regulator and run your oil pressure shut off switch directly to your acc. in your fuse box. Thats if you have a electric pump which i think you do.

first off the gas will flow through the stock electric in tank pump at least mine did the mech pump on your v8 may or may not need a regulator if it is rated as a stock pump it would not depends just how \"race \" your new engine is if a hi po electric pump is needed

Im talking about when i drop in the 406 sbc will anything needed to be changed to the fuel delivery? It has a stock mechanical pump...the motor getting pulled is a 2.5. roy

If you use a mechanical pump then you have to take out the stock electric pump in the tank and replace it with a piece of pipe or tubeing.
